Happenings in the District

The problem with the server that hosts the unit websites, like pack123.greatplainsbsa.org  was worse than expected and is not usable. We have identified a replacement server that is being shipped to us. We hope this will allow the sites come back online, but will not know for sure until the server arrives early this week.
Another short term plan is to attempt to redirect all of the websites to this website and then point visitors to the Unit pages. While this is not a good solution, it is better than 'page not found'.
We understand how important this and thanks for your patience.

Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts

The District wishes to thank Bear Technologies (BearTech) for many years of service to the district by providing unit web hosting.  However, BearTech is unable to continue this service and we have determined that this service will be discontinued on October 1, 2008.

If you currently host a website under this plan (pack123.greatplainsbsa.org) you will need to relocate your website and email.  Units will need to find their own hosting provider such as with GoDaddy.com or other provider.

If you haven't already had the opportunity, please complete the survey/feedback form that was in your folder on the last day of camp. Scanned survey forms can be emailed to Beth Buckley; email me for my snail mail address.

For those who do not have a copy of the survey/feedback form, use this interactive form. Once you have filled in your answers, click the "Submit by Email" option in the upper right column.

There is a great new resource for Cub and WEBELOS leaders called "My Cub Scout Wants to Go Camping." It provides detailed step by step information on what you need to do to have your dens or packs participate in really fun and exciting outdoor activities.  Follow the link below and there you can download this great tool and take your Scouts outdoors!!
